Multi-Million Pound Order From Speedy For Tier 3 Compliant

SDMO Generators Cheshire based SDMO Energy, the UK division of the French generator manufacturing giant SDMO Industries, have confirmed a multi-million pound order for a fleet of generators from Speedy, the UK provider of equipment rental and support services. Branded as the Rental Compact range, each of these sets comply with Stage 3 of

the European Engine Emissions Directives 97/68/EC, 2002/88/EC, 2004/26/EC and 2006/105/EC, which came into force during 2011. The shipment is for a fleet of 250 professional rental specification generating sets ranging from 20 to 500kVA, powered by a Mitsubishi, John Deere or Volvo diesel engine. Each generator is equipped with a 3-way fuel valve for an external tank with a heavy duty air filtration system for use in harsh environments, such as demolition sites and quarries. The power is provided by the latest Leroy Somer AREP alternators and the fuel tanks are fully bunded, with leakage detection, making them environmentally safe. The complete unit is housed in a weather-proof Zintec treated enclosure with whisper-quiet noise levels. Advanced control and management is handled via either a Telys or Nexys controller.

Each set is fitted with low level sockets, a hardwire facility with easy engine access through wide opening galvanised doors and thoughtfully added door retainer clips. Environmental issues, such a reduced noise pollution and diesel spillage has not been overlooked. These new rental generators have whisper-quiet sound levels and the long-run fuel tank is fully bunded, helping to guard against leakage or spillage. Transportation and off-loading is made safe and simple via the, nylon lined, fork access pockets inserted into the base.

These features and benefits ensure that each set is ideally suited to provide continuous, clean power, on construction sites, outside events, airports and a stable mains back-up for schools, factories and hospitals. Commenting on the environmental qualities of the Rental Compact range, Andy Connor, Speedy’s purchasing director said, “To this end, we have recently developed our sustainability philosophy, One Plan, which we hope will implement best practice at both ends of our supply chain. By delivering innovative and sustainable solutions, which help solve the everyday challenges faced by our customer base, we hope to enable contractors to lower their carbon emissions, whilst at the same time lowering costs.” “We work very closely with all our rental clients to ensure that we are always abreast with the changing demands of the rental markets, said SDMO’s Clive Dix,, “therefore we listened very carefully to Speedy’s experts in order that we produced a line of sets that are completely in line with their customers’ requirements”, concluded Clive.
