New To The UK, Long Life
Breakers With A 3 Year Warranty The major problem with expensive downtime for maintenance and gassing of breaker attachments has a solution in the Socomec range of equipment. Mawsley Machinery are the UK importers operating from their bases in Northamptonshire and north London. The breakers fit excavators from under 1 tonne to 65 tonnes. The monoblock structure of the DMS model, which fits excavators up to 22 tonnes, provides exceptional reliability with simple access to the piston and seals by removal of the accumulator. The heavy range of breakers has tie bolts locked in place making maintenance easier and minimises the requirement for re-gassing. Andy Atkins-Smith, Sales Director of Mawsley commented that “the average life of a Socomec breaker is 12 years and they are well established in the European market”. He added, “Mawsley are confident in the quality and reliability of the product and will back this up with a 3 year warranty”.
The Italian manufactured equipment has established itself as a robust well engineered product for many years however it has not been widely available in the UK until now. The same high quality standards are applied to Socomec’s selection of screening buckets, vibrating plates, sheers, grabs and crushers. Mawsley have a stock of attachments available and manufacturer trained staff who can advise on the most effective combination of hammer to excavator. Atkins-Smith added, “the full range of hammers is silenced which is particularly attractive for all city based contracts however Mawsley can provide nationwide advice and ongoing support to customers from both our locations and via a net work of dealers throughout the country.”

Impressive 18m
Horizontal Outreach From Teupen’s New 25m Leo
Spiderlif™ Teupen has introduced an alternative 25m working height
tracked spider lift, the Leo 25T Plus, to complement its long-established Leo 25T. As well as a slimmer 1.58m chassis, the Plus machine offers an impressive 18.0m maximum horizontal outreach (with 80kg on the platform). This not only improves on the existing model’s 15.5m outreach at the same platform capacity, but is almost 50% more than its nearest competitor.
The new model also includes enhancements appearing across the Leo range to increase their edge in simplicity and user-friendly operation for easy, problem- free hire.
Chesterfield-based Ranger Equipment, Teupen’s exclusive distributor in the UK and Ireland, says the new Leo will give a boost to maintenance, installation and inspection tasks, inside and out, across many user sectors. Steve Hadfield, MD, says: “The original Leo 25T pushed boundaries in terms of fast, high performance, lightweight platform design, with its sub 3 tonne weight and sub 1.54 kN/m3 surface loadings. It is now joined by the Plus model offering phenomenal reach from a narrower chassis which is capable of accessing tighter space and achieving more from one position.”
In common with all Leos, surface loadings for the Leo25T Plus are still very low (<1.83 kN/m3) to safeguard high value internal floors as well as external paving, grass or gravel. Outreach at maximum 200kg platform capacity is 15.0m. Machine gross weight is a low 3760kg to fit on many modern 7.5T lorries. Productivity is boosted by the machine’s hydraulic height adjusting crawlers, and very fast drive and boom functions courtesy of an improved engine and power management system being introduced across the Teupen range.
