Company Profile: It is now over 20 years since the first Telescopic Ladder came into the market and over this period of time at Telesteps they have seen many changes, not only with the product but also with Telesteps as a company.
If we go back to the very beginning, in 1991 two Englishmen came up with the concept of a telescopic ladder and very quickly they realised that in order to take this concept, shall we say to another level, they needed to acquire some outside help and as a result of their actions in 1995 Telesteps as a company was formed. The first Telescopic Ladder went on sale manufactured in Eksjo in Sweden. In 1996 Mr Christer Johansson and Per-Olof Eriksson acquired the patent and also the selling rights to a Brand called Telesteps. Little did they know at that time what was to lie ahead in the years to come. As time passed and the company grew they needed to move to bigger premises and this was achieved in the year of 2000 when the company moved to Tranas in Sweden, where it still is today some 12 years later. Over the next 5 years the company and Brand grew and was acquired by a Swedish public company called the Gunnebo Industries Group.
Over the next five years sales grew through new product development and the expansion of their target markets UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands. These became focus regions for their Brand, and in 2005 & 2006 they were awarded the Gasell Company of the year award along with being nominated for the Grand Award Design.
In 2007 a new management and sales team was implemented in order to drive the business forward. As a result of their efforts and actions they not only enjoyed the accreditation of being renowned as the market Brand Leader in their product field, but they also have the recognition of supplying over 45 different countries around the World and are still growing.
When you take a close look at their products individually, not only do they exude quality from the way that they have been designed and manufactured, but they are also very easy to operate both for the professional tradesman and the keen DIY enthusiast. All their products are manufactured with one simple goal in mind QUALITY. This simple goal is achieved by using the very best materials available along with
a very rigorous quality-control checking procedure before all their products leave the factory.
Their full product profile consists of nine individual telescopic products and a range of accessories starting with the basic Red Line Ladder. This is their basic ladder aimed at the general DIY market. They then have the Black Line Range consisting of two straight Ladders, the 3.3 and the 3.8 Mtr Compact. They also have three Combination Ladders, 1.7 Mtr, 2.3 Mtr and 3.0 Mtr; two Loft Ladders and a Working Platform all designed for the professional tradesman. Their accessories consist of Adjustable Feet, Carry Bags, and a Top Support for the 3.3 and 3.8 Mtr Ladders and a Working Tray for the Combination Ladders. All these accessories are designed to make the daily working life of the professional tradesman that much easier and the feedback they get from their market research is that this is exactly what their consumers want.
Their research and development team in Sweden are constantly working on concepts and ideas for new products, and as a result of their efforts we will shortly see the launch of the their first 4.1 Mtr Telescopic Ladder with the certification of EN1147. This Ladder has been designed to surpass the most stringent testing procedures a telescopic ladder needs to achieve in order to gain this certification, and they are proud to say that their Research and Development team have achieved their goal.
Outside of their R&D team they have an active Marketing Department who are developing a number of new initiative’s starting with the redesign of their global website. This will include a number of key changes including a very comprehensive data bank of product images and videos. There will also be a section for retail customers and detailed information for consumers and much much more. This will be launched over the next two months. The next move will be the redesign of their Branded literature and their Retail Marketing material, so I think you will agree that behind the frontline of their company there continues to be a substantial amount of time and money invested to bring all their customers the very best from the very best in Telescopic Work Tools – Telesteps AB For more information regarding the Telesteps Brand please contact Derek Gray on ( 07545-598489 ) or simply E-Mail
