A

t the close of the Choctaw Electric Cooperative candidate filing period on August 2, 2011, four candidates

filed their intent to run for election to the Choctaw Electric Cooperative (CEC) board of trustees.

Three of the candidates are incumbent trustees currently serving on the CEC board. Mike Bailey, District B, of Idabel; and Bob Hodge, District C, of Bethel drew no opponents and wll retain their seats for another three-year term.

Incumbent trustee Bob Holley of Antlers will face Bobby Cain in the upcoming election for CEC District G. Members living in this district will vote for their trustee at the CEC Annual Meeting.

CEC service territory is divided into nine districts. Every three years cooperative members elect representatives from within their district to serve on the CEC board of trustees. CEC bylaws require board members to live on CEC lines and be members of the cooperative.
