Team Player: Julie Wayman, Billing Specialist A

lthough Julie Wayman joined Tri-County Electric as a billing specialist almost two years ago, she has been part

of the cooperative’s family for much longer. Her husband Rick Wayman has been with the cooperative since 1988 and is currently the cooperative’s construction manager. As a billing specialist, Julie helps with the cooperative’s

weekly billing process, ensuring our members receive timely and accurate bills. She also balances the payments received by the cooperative. Julie is responsible for ‘uncollectible’ accounts as well. When an inactive account is deemed ‘uncollectible,’ she sends a notice to the account holder. She also sends regular reports on uncollectible accounts to the management team and provides the account information to an outside collection agency. All billing specialists at the cooperative are also responsible

for member service, helping take phone calls when the lines are busy and responding to members who need billing assistance. “Working with people from my community and helping members with their questions and concerns are my favorite

aspects of my job,” said Julie. “Our job revolves around making sure the members are taken care of. It’s great anytime I can help a member with a concern and they are happy with the outcome.” Rick and Julie have

two grown children. Their son Aaron resides in Hooker with his wife Emily. Aaron works at HD Supply and is an emergency medical technician as well as a volunteer firefighter. Shelby, Rick and Julie’s daughter, is a third-year student at Oklahoma State University and is majoring in Accounting and Finance. In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her family as well as reading and shopping.

ELECTRIC CO-OPS WERE CONSTRUCTED WITH LINES, POLES AND THE FOOLHARDY NOTION THAT WE ALL PROSPER BY HELPING EACH OTHER.

The Power of Community

It seems obvious in retrospect, but there was a time when getting electricity outside of the city limits wasn’t a given. Today, the spirit of community that co-ops were built upon continues to thrive. And as members we can all lend a hand by saving energy. Learn how at TogetherWeSave.com.
