YOUTH TOUR
While no one exactly wanted to leave their newfound Youth Tour friends, some were ready for the familiarity of home by Thursday morning. We attended a question- and-answer session with both Senators and most of our Congressmen, then toured the ballpark of the Baltimore Orioles, and then waited for our flight home. It turned out a longer wait than expected. Stormy weather added a delay of nearly an hour and a half, while our luggage sat in the rain. We arrived back in Oklahoma around 10:15 p.m., where family and friends awaited en masse to greet us. By the time I got home, it was 1:15 a.m. Friday morning, and I’d been up for 22 hours straight.
It was a great experience, and one that I’ll never forget, all thanks to the electric cooperatives of Oklahoma. If any incoming juniors are interested in applying for next year’s Youth Tour, or eighth graders looking at next summer’s Energy Camp, contact East Central Electric Co-op at 918- 756-0833. OL
