KeelanWestall wins back brokers K


eelan Westall reports that it has re-activated almost 100 “dormant” broker accounts following the implementation of its “win back” campaign. The company attributes the success to an improved proposition for the let residential market, together with more competitive premiums and better rates of commission.


The company, which


celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, also parades a 48-hour turn-around on mid-term adjustments, one-hour turn-around for residential new business, and two hours for commercial enquiries, plus an average nine- week claims settlement time.

Barbon backs House of Lords party


Following the introduction of Barbon Group’s new corporate social responsibility strategy, Wayne Tonge, head of business at Keelan Westall (a Barbon Group company), has announced that his organisation aims to raise £10,000 by August for Step by Step, a local charity that supports and empowers homeless young people and those facing adversity.

PC is launching an area rated hotel and guest house product, with the expected surge in tourist numbers for the Olympics in mind. Live from June 6, it covers a range of risks up to £10 million sum insured, with no limit on bedroom numbers. The minimum premium is £400.


The new product will be available via APC’s online trading platform, QuoteMac.

PowerPlace adds Brit P


owerPlace, the online commercial insurance marketplace which distributes via Open GI’s Open Trader platform, has added Brit Insurance to its panel of insurers. Brit will be launching its D&O liability cover to the PowerPlace market this month. Vivek Banga, head of UK distribution for Brit Insurance, says, “E-traded SME business is already a significant proportion


of our commercial portfolio, and we are finding that there is an increasing demand from brokers to be able to compare products and to get access to competitive quotes quickly and efficiently for both the more complex and the simpler lines of business.
