BY STEVE HARTRIDGE Tourism New Zealand’s long-running
100% Pure campaign has entered a new phase with the digital media launch of a UK marketing drive putting visitors’ unique New Zealand experiences at the heart of the message, by adding ‘You’ to the ‘100% Pure’' tag. The New Zealand 100% Pure You
messaging is being used in conjunction with the line ‘It’s About Time’ that highlights both the experience of visiting New Zealand as well as driving a more immediate desire to travel. The refreshed campaign encourages
potential travellers that there’s no better time than now to visit New Zealand, through a series of emotive images depicting authentic experiences against the backdrop of scenic landscapes. The current imagery showcases the personal experiences of a couple kayaking, whale watching, wine tasting and enjoying New Zealand’s scenery.

Peter Joel A doyen of the airline world has
died after several years of poor health following his retirement. Peter Joel, who was the public relations director UK for Pan Am, died on February 13 at home in Surbiton aged 67. Peter went through Pan Am’s Tenerife disaster in 1977 and then the living nightmare of Lockerbie in 1988. Peter was in the thick of it with none of the support and training that airline staff receive today. Peter carried the trauma of Lockerbie with him for the rest of his life. In 1989 he left Pan Am – for a
short time working for Imperial Cancer Research before joining Alan Murray Public Relations (his main client was OAG). He was also a past chairman of the Airline Public Relations Organisation (APRO). Alan Orbell, managing editor
