THE CONFERENCE: LEARN, BE INSPIRED, DEBATE The format of this year’s MI Retail Conference & Expo is similar to last year’s event, in that the morning will be devoted to an informative, entertaining and, no doubt, lively conference session. This will comprise two speaker sessions, plus two panel sessions debating retail issues ranging from attracting more customers to your store to harnessing socia media; customer service to competiting with the online giants. The conference will end with a keynote session from UK Music CEO (and former pop star) Feargal Sharkey.

Consulting, in 2006, Cross was head of stategy for Boots the Chemist, where he led a programme that lowered costs at the health and beauty retailer by some £100 million. His company has worked with some of the biggest names in retail, inlcuding DFS, Dunelm and Avon. Meanwhile, as part of a self-confessed mid-life
crisis, Cross has attended the MIA Weekend Warrior programme and recently joined his first band, The Imposters, as guitarist. Cross will discuss ‘Putting The Customer on the centre-stage of music retailing’, with the key points being:-
