“The belongings we cherish say a lot about who we are, where we have been and where we hope to get to.” In 2009 A Moment’s Peace worked in partnership with women from Rosemount Lifelong Learning Centre in Royston to create this beautiful exhibition. Rose was separated from her five-year old child during the 1998 conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Twelve years later, the pair finally reunite in the US. 60 years ago the UN Refugee Convention was signed. Since then it has saved millions of lives. To mark this, Scottish Refugee Council and media co-op have teamed up with a group of men and women from refugee backgrounds to create a very special film, which will be shown across Scotland on World Refugee Day, June 20, as well as throughout Refugee Week.
