PREVIEW

It’s five in the morning and you have been playing in Portsmouth as well tonight. How did it go down? Heavy, really really good. It was packed out!

I think that I have got some energy but if there is one person in London that has more energy than me it is you! Where do you get all your energy from? Him upstairs its gotta be!

We have just heard another of your classic sets, if your having a party and you wanna turn up the heat a bit then this you are the guy you have to call. Your a party maker, what vibe are you on? Always for the dancefloor, I always think that it’s really important to play for the people and give them what they want basically.

I see in your sets that you still bring in some of those old school classics mixed up? Always, I think to go forward you must go back and I always play a good percent of old stuff mixed in with the new, remixes whatever There is good old school content all the time.

Whenever I listen to you I remember some of my best nights ever, looking back at Orange, Raindance, Paradise Club

Thunder and Joy!

Yep!...What do you hold spe- cial about those years? I started playing music when I was fifteen and I play to people double my age. Now I’m playing to people half my age. I am blessed that I am still playing music to the masses and I am enjoying it and enjoying life.

You have been a legend through Hardcore, Jungle and D&B, but what is special about being Nicky Blackmar- ket now? Doing the same thing as what I always do, making people dance, That is what’s special for me.

What’s going on with the shop? I have moved out of the shop and moved out of London, I am living in Gloucestershire now.

That’s why I have got to stay up until 5.30 in the morning to catch you! Because you are living out in the sticks! Yeah I have moved out of London, I have got five kids now..four girls and one boy.

Wow, five little Nicky Black- markets’ running around! Must keep you busy! Yeah very busy but it’s all good! love it! They will be there to keep me up when I get home, haha, they don’t understand daddy has been

working all night! So I’ll stay awake till i just collapse hehe!

Your still all over the world all the time right? Yeah I am going to play in Portugal the week after next.

We will have to come on the road with you soon? Yep that’s a great idea, one week- end you will have to come and party on the road!

I remember back in the day we did a radio show together, me you Stevie Hyper D and Clarkee. I always seem to remember you, Stevie and Clarkee it was like a family is that right? Yeah definitely, it was always good vibes.

You know what I still have that tape! Haha I have that too!

That’s some special times and I am so glad that you are one of those guys keeping it alive until now. I love what I do. I am high on life!

You are still going be doing this in a zimmer frame right? Ya, you can’t stop me. The other week I was playing somewhere up North and I didn’t finish until 7am. The crowd didn’t want me to stop and it just reminded me of the good old days. You have got to

come on the road with me!

So if you could have a swim- ming pool filled with anything, what would it be? Those floating lilos because I can’t swim!

Haha! If you were invisible for the day, what would you get up to? An interesting one, I would be a fly on the wall.

Where you from? Well my mums half Irish and half Nepalese and my dads half Scot- tish and Swedish. You will never get a mixture like me!

In Jungle and D&B there is no colour... but you are the black- est DJ that you will ever find I’m telling you! I cant wait to hear another Nicky Blackmar- ket set. Well we will definitely go out on the road and we can do four par- ties in one night!
