SONAR FESTIVAL

FESTIVAL 17

WHAT KIND OF FESTIVAL GOER ARE YOU ?

FESTIVAL STEREOTYPES

1 - THE ‘FESTIVAL VIRGIN’. These are particularly amusing to watch. As they stumble onto the site equipped for every eventuality. Festival veterans can’t help but snigger as they lug half of Sussex through the field. (A fire extinguisher? Really?) It probably takes a first time festival-goer three times as long to reach their camp. Upon reaching said camp, they will find out that there is a Tesco around the corner and realise it probably wasn’t entirely necessary to bring ten packs of Muller Light and hundreds of Tupperware boxes filled with Mummy’s carbonara.

2 - THE ‘GIRLY GETAWAY’ FESTIVAL-GOER. Commonly found at the likes of V festival and T4 on the Beach, these types come adorned in floral playsuits, hippie headbands and coloured Wayfarer sunglasses. They will spend more time taking pictures of themselves making ‘peace’ signs and pouting than they will actually enjoying themselves.

HIDEOUT FESTIVAL

Croatia, set to be one of the biggest destina- tions for festival goers this summer, is going to be home for Hideout Festival on the Island Of Pag. On the 1st- 3rd July this festival will witness a massive line up of artists featuring; 2manydjs, Chase & Status, Nero, Annie Mac, Pendulum, Andy C, Erol Alkan, Shy FX, Ms Dy- namite, Doorly, Joker, Mount Kimbie, Toddla T, Danny Byrd and so many more! This Festival is going to be a huge one and not to be missed with beach and boat parties arranged by Ur- ban Nerd’s Rattus Rattus and Klose One. The festival can be easily reached, there are two local airports, a range of places to stay nearby and the festival can arrange transfers to and from the site. There are also many activities to occupy your time when you’re not litsening to some wicked tunes, including wakeboarding, jet skiing and scuba diving. Amongst its idyl- lic mountain ranges and white sandy beaches this festival is going to be massive! Make sure you get yourselves over there to soak up the sun and listen to some world class dance mu- sic. With tickets only £89.00, we suggest that you get involved!

3 - THE ‘FIRESTARTER’ There is always one of these in each camp. This person will have started the campfire and as a result will treat it as though it is his/her baby. The ‘Firestarter’ will claim to have seen many bands and DJ’s but everyone knows this person has spent every waking hour tending to his/her beloved fire.

4 - THE ‘FREE HUGS’ CLOWN. These funnymen find it hysterical to shout ‘free hugs!’ and wave signs at startled passers by, seemingly unaware that this joke has been made thousands of times before and that no-one actually wants to hug them - probably because they normally smell like a festering piece of roadkill.

5 - THE ‘SHOULDER SITTERS’ Please. You’re blocking my view.
