Lancaster CA - April 2, 2011 - Round 3

M2X Racing’s K

X450F-mounted Tye Hames easily aced both Moto X Pro class motos to walk away with the lion’s share of the Pro payback at the A.V. Motoplex Motocross Park, during round three of M2X Racing’s Spring Kickoff Series.

Hames left no doubt as to his intentions on the day as he absconded with the opening moto holeshot, ahead of Cory Conner, Dustin Pulliam and Zack Ward. Hames quickly put a couple of seconds on Conner who was staying busy with Pulliam camped out on his back fender. Hames didn’t put a wheel wrong and continued on uncontested for the win. Conner kept Pulliam at bay up until the checkers waved for a hard- fought second place finish. Ward crossed the line a few seconds later for third, over Justin Kolacinski and Ryan Alexy.

Moto two’s start was a duplicate of the first as Hames won the drag race to the first turn. Alexy gated in second place but that would only last a lap before Conner took over the position. Once again it was all Hames as he steadily increased his lead over Conner with each passing lap. Ward worked his way up into a solid third place finish for third overall, topping the 6- 4 of Alexy and 5-5 of Kolacinski. Rich Taylor showed a big 85cc Beginner class his back fender for a little over a lap in moto one racing before a fall dropped him back to 13th

place. Noah

Chandler inherited a lead that he would hold until the checkers fell. Ryan Nolan did a great job of working up from getting stuck in the starting gate to holding off Anthony Montante for second place at the finish. Taylor overcame his lap two fall to fight his way up into an impressive fourth place finish over Joshua Clark and Skyler Nicholson.

Nicholson put his Honda out front when the gate fell in moto two, but he was quickly swallowed up by Chandler, Taylor and Nolan. Chandler and Nolan broke away from the others in a great battle over the top spot that would see Nolan put a last lap move on Chandler to see the checkers first and take home the first place trophy. Chandler’s close second place performance earned him the second place trophy over the 4-3 of Taylor. Montante (3-5) rounded out the top four, over

Andrew Richardson won the Lites Novice class

Nolan Colborn won the 65cc 9-11 age class Clark (5-4) and Nicholson (6-7).

KTM-mounted Nolan Colborn made his way to the front of the pack early in 65cc 9-11 age first moto action and never looked back. Ron DeVoll fended off some mid-moto challenges from David Dunlap to finish in second place. Anthony McReynolds was just a couple of ticks back, followed by Michael Lundin and Jack Brunskill.

Second moto racing saw McReynolds nail the start and lead the field for the first couple of circuits before Colborn was able to find a way around the fellow KTM pilot. Colborn would inch away for a perfect 1-1 showing on the day. DeVoll was around McReynolds for second place by the midway point where he stayed for the remainder of the race. Dunlap was again third, over McReynolds and Lundin. Ian True wasted little time in making his way to the front of the Lite Beginner class opening moto where he would check out for the victory. Mark Mollica and Tyler Onyshko were glued together as they argued over second place for much of the race with Mollica coming out on top on the white flag lap. Mark Saldibar Jr. topped Mark Saldibar for fourth.

True was well on his way to a sweep of the field until a fall on the penultimate lap forced him out of the race. Onyshko was running in second place and inherited the top spot where he would stay until the checkers to sew up the overall on his 3-1 effort. Mollica fought his way up into a second place finish for second in the final standings over the 5-4 of Saldibar. Cody Miller had his RM125 running out front of a pack of four-strokes when the gate dropped in Lites Novice class first moto action. Andrew Richardson gated in fifth but was running out front by the completion of lap two where he would stay for the duration. Zach Teno dropped Miller back to third at the midway point. Bud Niblack finish in fourth, ahead of Ryan Popp and Justin Sherwood.

Tye Hames who won the Moto X Pro class

Moto two was all Richardson’s as he got a much better start and proceeded to completely dominate the race. Teno charged up into another second place finish, this time over Popp, who finished third in the final standings over Miller (3-9) and Brandon Pozas (9-4).
