Championships. This special event will take place two days before the world’s fastest motocross racers take to the steep hills of Glen Helen Raceway for the USGP. As the only amateur event held in conjunction with an FIM World Championships event, the World Amateur Motocross Championships will offer amateur riders from all over the world a unique opportunity to race on the famed Glen Helen USGP track in the same configuration that the pros will use. The action starts on Thursday, May 12, with a 7:30 a.m. practice session. Racing starts at 9:15 a.m. and lasts throughout the day. Classes include all skill levels of 50cc, 65cc, Schoolboy, Superminis, College, 250F, Over-25, Over- 30, and Over-40. Friday, May 13, sticks to the same practice and race schedule, with racing in the 85cc, Women, 150, 450F, and Over-50 classes.


Admission for the World Amateur Motocross championship is included in the price of every $70 adult weekend pass for the 2011 Monster Energy Grand Prix of the United States.


Nicole Johnson named Guest of Honor at Chambon Sur Jeep 2011

icole Johnson was recently named Guest of Honor at France’s premier off roading event, the Chambon Sur Jeep 2011, held in Clermont-Ferrand April 29 through May 1. Nicole was scheduled to perform demonstrations of off roading techniques, attend special events, and work with local organizers to increase dialog between French and US off roaders.


“Wheeling is in my blood,” says Nicole, “and I have seen lots of trails. But France is different. This is an incredible opportunity to drive in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The Chambon Sur Jeep event is well known, and I am excited to be their Guest of Honor. I wouldn’t miss it for the world!” On the weekend of April 29, 30 and May 1, French Jeepers converged on the central mountains of France near Clermont-Ferrand to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Chambon Sur Jeep
