FEATURE BRAZIL

Tourism Talk CHRIS FUZINATTO director of Embratur, for UK and Ireland "Interest in Brazil is

growing hugely as consumers realise that there is more to the country than sun, samba and football. It is essential for agents to know about what else is on offer to tourists especially with the World Cup and Olympics coming up. Agents will have the opportunity to learn more about Rio and the 12 host cities for the World Cup at our upcoming roadshows, as well as what other destinations UK tourists can experience when they visit Brazil.”

From The Front Line COLIN WILSON head of sales, Page & Moy Travel Group “Brazil's biggest draws are

Rio, for its vibrant and friendly culture, and Iguazu, for its stunning waterfalls and rugged landscape. The Olympics and the World Cup have resulted in a lot of regeneration of the tourism industry. There have been a number of developments of new hotels and several new flights added into Rio from Europe. On the back of this, the booming economy and the two events have seen the price of accommodation and travel rise, though current exchange rates still make the destination good value for money and an increase in competition will ultimately push airfares down.”

PAUL MEDLEY head of product, The Adventure Company “Brazil’s combination of

vibrant culture, jaw-dropping natural beauty and welcoming people makes it a great option for families with a sense of

adventure. It’s also a great way of keeping enquiring minds entertained during school holidays, with the Amazon offering a chance for children to understand the importance of looking after the environment.”
