CABLES AND CABLE ACCESSORIES
W WAGO’s spring pressure electrical terminations reduce
installation time and improve systems efficiency.
AGO, the innovators of the world- renowned Cage Clamp termina-
tion concept, offer a range of more than 20,000 products including industrial rail- mounted/PCB terminal blocks, electronic modules, interface units and fieldbus-in- dependent I/O systems. They are used in a wide variety of applications including manufacturing, building services, utilities and transportation systems.
The Cage Clamp system ensures faster connection than conventional screw-type systems. “Proportional clamping” means the spring adjusts automatically to con- ductor size, so a safe, secure connection is assured, virtually regardless of operator skill.
In rail transport, WAGO’s spring pressure technology offers particular advantages for many on-board and trackside applications. Compared to both screw-type connectors and stud-type connector blocks, WAGO units are faster to install, more compact and ensure a secure connection, which is resistant to vibration and extremes of tem- perature and climate. Products have been used successfully in rail systems through-
out the world. Applications include lo- comotives, rolling stock, points heaters, signalling systems and other trackside installations. The versatility of WAGO’s range is a major plus. The choice of units including double and triple deck terminal blocks, incorporating knife disconnect, test points, bridging and other functions makes it easy to adapt to changing opera- tor requirements.
WAGO’s Series 280-675 and 280-833 TS35 DIN rail-mounted terminations have Network Rail acceptance. Amongst other WAGO products used in rail applications is the X-COM universal connection system.
Suitable for use in switchgear cabinets in locomotives and carriages, X-COM offers major labour and cost saving benefits. The X-COM product family provides the ben- efit of ‘pluggable solutions’ for a variety of switchgear applications. With a rating of 500 V/16A, the system is also an efficient and cost effective alternative to heavy con- nections.
