ew Tuff Spun Deck is the latest addition to the range of anti-fatigue mattings, from international matting manufacturer Plastic Extruders Ltd. The new matting is specially designed to provide slip protection,
N comfort underfoot in working
environments. Tuff Spun Deck is a hard-wearing, anti- fatigue matting which combines a closed cell PVC foam base with heavy duty wear layer top surface. The embossed vinyl checker plate wear layer surface provides added traction as well as being abrasion and puncture resistant. A benefit of Tuff Spun Deck is that it’s manufactured in one single composition with different colours to the wear layer and underside. This means that not only is it bonded perfectly but also has the added advantage of being more competitively priced than traditional mattings manufactured from dual materials. It is ideal as a durable, slip resistant surface in areas where workers spend extended periods of time standing. The black 91cm wide matting is available in18m long rolls and in the three module sizes of 60 x 91cm, 150 x 91cm and 300 x 91cm. Both rolls and modules are supplied with bevelled edges as standard to reduce tripping.

New Modular Pneumatic Valve+ Interlock Range

The PV+ is suitable for the isolation of a pneumatic power source and is conventionally key-free, but the revised modular design allows the unit to be used in conjunction with other functional modules, giving the user flexibility. The PV+ has been designed to complement the Fortress mGard range of mechanical key interlocks for heavy applications, which work by releasing and trapping keys in a predetermined sequence to ensure safe operation of dangerous machinery; access is not permitted until a safe condition has been achieved. With the new PV+, a combination of isolation/access keys is possible, with sequential or non-sequential key operation available.

team and hot water systems from Spirax Sarco are helping Anglian Water treat sewage sludge at two new biosolids treatment works in Kings Lynn and Great Billing. The projects are two of four ground breaking schemes planned by the utility company to reduce biosolids volumes, increase quality and generate energy in the process. This innovative process will not only make the centres self-sufficient in electricity but any surplus will be exported on to the national grid. Spirax Sarco expertise was brought in to provide consultancy on the specification, design and installation of the steam systems for both sites. A number of Spirax Sarco specialists in condensate recovery, steam trapping and water treatment worked in partnership with the projects’ contractors to design an easily maintainable system with minimal downtime.
