Artist Rebecca Childers Caleel created these statues of Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas. Lincoln stands 11 ft. (3.4 m), and Douglas stands 9 ft. (2.7 m).
Susan Clinard’s Protecting Her Children During War #2 was cast in bronze.
Cast in steel, this sculpture is a replica of an actual tumble- weed found on a beach in Michigan. Steel was chosen for its natural tendency to rust, thus duplicating the natural color and appearance of bark.
This is one of 24 bronze bas-relief panels at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. The panel shown here depicts a family learning of the Pearl Harbor attack. A bas-relief sculpture is one in which the projection from the surrounding surface is low and no part of the modeled form is undercut. The panels at the memorial were created by sculptor Ray Kaskey.
