Stertil Stokvis introduces RapidRoll Clean Door

Stertil Stokvis has boosted its acclaimed range of RapidRoll doors with the launch of RapidRoll Clean. This latest generation of fast-action cleanroom doors provides all the established advantages of fast opening and closing alongside additional features to meet cleanroom requirements and protect against airborne contamination. The new doors are ideal for all cleanroom applications across numerous industries and environments including medical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, electronics, aerospace, nanotechnology, optics, food and cosmetics. Meeting international standards for cleanroom applications up to ISO Class 5 (EN 14644-1) or GMP Class C with pressure differences up to 50 Pa, the cleanroom suitability of the doors has been certified by the Fraunhofer Institute in Munich. Super-fast operating speeds minimise air exchange between different areas when open and help to maintain air pressure differentials when closed. All doors and associated materials, including PVC curtains and stainless steel frames and rails, are designed for easy cleaning to help promote the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

Stertil Stokvis RapidRoll Clean Doors are available in standard sizes ranging from 1000mm wide x 1000mm high to 3500mm wide x 3500mm high.

Impressive opening and closing speeds of 2.0metres/sec and 1.0metre/sec respectively ensure fast, safe and unobstructed movement of personnel and goods between areas.

Operating safety has been paramount in the design of the new RapidRoll Clean range of fast-action doors. The standard self-testing contact safety edge stops the door closing and returns it to fully open in the event of striking an obstruction. Alternatively, for additional safety and protection, an STS Stertil Stokvis touchless (non-contact) safety system incorporating a pre-running photocell can be specified. A door line photocell also prevents closing if the door is obstructed.

The new doors are supported by a wide range of activation systems and can be supplied with controls and interlocks for air lock systems which help to maintain air cleanliness levels in different zones of a facility. The innovative MCCVectorControl

is supplied as standard. This

programmable-frequency converter system is extremely compact, featuring easy plug- in connections, and ensures smooth door operation. The control panel features foil keys and a graphical display for easy operation and maintenance. The control unit and main switch are conveniently located in the side column whilst a contactless actuator may be specified for greater hygiene.

Commenting on the new RapidRoll Clean range, Andy Georgiou of Stertil Stokvis, says, “This launch heralds the most significant development since we introduced the original RapidRoll door to the market over 40 years ago. Enhancing the proven benefits of fast action, reliable performance and excellent after-sales support, our RapidRoll Clean range offers the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.” www.stertiluk.com Email: ageorgiou@stertiluk.com

Leading duct cleaning specialist launches risk assessment service

The impact of dirty ventilation systems within an organisation’s premises can be devastating, for the workforce and business as a whole. As facilities managers become increasingly aware of this important issue, specialist duct cleaning company Ductbusters has

launched a risk assessment service in response to client demand, allowing companies to plan for cleaning programmes when setting budgets. A site visit from one of the experienced team of surveyors at Ductbusters will ascertain the internal conditions within any ventilation system, measuring dust levels, microbiological content, temperature, humidity and CO2

Safety at Work Act that ventilation systems are regularly inspected and findings recorded, therefore risk assessments can be important in obtaining funding for a cleaning programme or investigating complaints over indoor air quality.

. The findings will be submitted in a written report, detailing areas of priority, advising on the scale and scope of treatment, along with suggested remedial action. This can then be referred to by organisations for the purposes of budget or planning meetings. It is a legal requirement laid down in the Health and

Building & Facilities Management – March 2011

Ian Wall, sales director for Ductbusters says: “We have always provided risk assessment on request and we have seen demand for this grow over recent years as organisations look to carefully plan cleaning operations in light of budget restrictions. We have taken the decision to launch it formally and offer risk assessment as a separate, additional service.” With over 50 years’ combined experience the Ductbusters team specialises in duct cleaning, ductwork repairs, fire damper drop testing, risk assessment and theatre deep cleaning for the public and private sectors. www.ductbusters.co.uk
