GENERAL: Was drafted in the 41st round by the Detroit Tigers out of high school…A consistent presence in the lineup and a sure-handed catcher as a fresh-


man…Should once again compete for time behind the plate and as a designated hitter.


AS A FRESHMAN: Appeared in 45 games, with 42 starts, splitting time between catcher and designated hitter… Batted .265, with 23 RBI and 22 runs scored…Had two or more hits in six straight games against Georgia, Holy Cross, NYIT, and Radford, going 15-for-26 in that span (3/14-3/27) …Recorded three hits in five different games…Committed just two errors all season, with 138 putouts and 17 assists.


BEFORE SIENA: Selected in the 41st Round (1,230 overall) by the Detroit Tigers out of high school…Named Windsor/ Essex County Male Athlete of the year…Member of the Canadian U18 national team…Four-year letterwinner in volleyball during high school.


ROSSI ON BALKWILL: “Larry got out of the gate quickly last year. This year, he has added strength and tiring should not be an issue. He is an outstanding catcher who should do the bulk of the catching this year. A hard and aggressive worker, we expect him to be an offensive threat through- out the year.”
