SPAIN’S CAPRABO OPTIMISES PRICING
Spanish supermarket chain Caprabo, part of Eroski Group, has selected Profi metrics Intelligent Profi t Optimisation from retail systems provider, Itim.
After the success of an initial pilot to prove the ability to implement on the tool Caprabo’s pricing policy and rules and test the adherence of the business community, Caprabo decided to fully implement Profi metrics and roll it out for all categories to enable faster decisions and optimising margins. Alberto Ojinaga, Caprabo’s management control director, said: “Caprabo, in its pledge to continue improving prices for our clients, has chosen Profi metrics as a solution that enable us to achieve this objective by optimising margin reduction. In an environment where pricing strategy is an essential element of competitiveness and with increasing complexity, Profi metrics allows us to manage our prices in an effi cient way. In addition to that, it has allowed us to be much more agile and fl exible in reacting to market movements, rapidly transferring price changes to our clients.”
SPANISH RETAILER SELECTS UNIT4 ERP
Spanish nutrition specialist, Kiluva has selected enterprise resource planning (ERP) software from UNIT4 as its central information management system across a global network of stores.
The initial phase of the project is valued at €773,000 (£658,478) and includes 250 user licences covering fi nance, logistics, projects, customer relationship management (CRM), business intelligence (BI) and point of sale (PoS), plus a special module for dieticians, across its Spanish stores and offi ces. In a second phase, the software will be rolled out to 2,000 franchised stores internationally.
Naturhouse is one of the leading brands operated by the company and is dedicated to dietetics and nutrition. Kiluva currently serves more than 3 million people through a network of 2,000 stores. Its national and international expansion and the increase in stores and customers, led to a requirement to implement a new integrated operational system. The aim is to better record and analyse customer behaviour to optimise customer service and to encourage loyalty. After an extensive selection process, where the company evaluated the leading ERP offerings on the market, Kiluva selected UNIT4’s ekon ERP software. Reasons cited for the selection include the software’s ability to adapt easily to future changes in the organisation’s structure and growth patterns and its ability to meet its multinational information delivery requirements.

had previously been using paper labels to display product and pricing information but the high volume of weekly promotions had made paper labels impractical and too labour- intensive to maintain.
The project came about following a dialogue between IT Gruppen, Delfi Technologies and a subsidiary of Dagrofa, the Danish wholesaler
SuperGros. Benn Jochumsen, IT project manager, SuperGros, said: “Our store staff no longer need to waste time updating paper labels manually when product prices change, or when we launch promotions. The solution eliminates pricing errors, and because the labels are fully graphical, we can now display text, logos and scannable barcodes.”
