WORKSHIP EQUIPMENT & RAIL DEPOTS
A A very happy new year
s the year draws to a close, Garrandale Group of Derby has established itself as the single biggest provider of engineering services to rail infrastructure companies. It has a presence on all rail depots south of Watford, and a growing number in the North.
A contributing factor to this success includes on-site project management, with a single liaison between the customer and the project work team, all of whom are fully qualified in their engineering disciplines and also certified to PTS.
All service contracts and repair emergencies are completed by Garrandale staff with no use of external contracted labour.
Garrandale service is enhanced by virtue of their manufacturing facilities. A full range of machine tools, laser-cutting and a fabrication workshop enables it to produce bespoke components and an ongoing reliability of spare parts.
It also offers 24-hour crash repair damage.
Controlled Growth
Happy customers strengthen Garrandale’s position by increasing confidence in its ability. The range of work extends accordingly, as does its customer base.
When you meet the engineers you detect a confidence and camaraderie that prevails in the best teams, and gives credence to the old adage, ‘success breeds success’.
Garrandale has a workforce at the top of its game in all
disciplines of mechanical, electrical, special purpose fabrication, machining and painting and finishing and doesn’t waste an opportunity to snap up an industry specialist with skills to expand their offer.
The workforce is PTS certified and installs services and maintains all Garrandale equipment and everyone else’s, including equipment of companies who have ceased trading. Equipment upgrades and innovative maintenance regimes extend equipment life and are cost effective due to a realistic relationship between service frequency and equipment usage.
Money saving services
Everyone is looking for value for money, yet too many companies are replacing equipment without questioning the alternatives or considering the remaining life expectancy of expensive equipment.

installation, refurbishment and maintenance, as well as depot refuelling and lubricant systems, installation, refurbishment and maintenance. It also has anti-graffiti systems for both infrastructure and rolling stock.
A strong UK presence has led to expansion into Europe and the opening of offices in Ireland and Spain. Such is Garrandale’s commitment to the rail industry that it has purchased a new fleet of vehicles to support the 24/7 depot activities that ensure the TOC’s have their vehicles leaving on schedule.
One can’t help thinking that there is still much more to see from Garrandale and its staff. They act with determination and speed to the needs of the rail infrastructure companies and train operators.
“If you haven’t put them to the test yet, you are in for a pleasant surprise.“
