loyds Somers has recently completed the supply of two sets of purpose designed floor-mounted static Bogie Rotators and various specialist handling devices to efficiently and safely manipulate the Pendalino Bogies during overhaul and servicing at Alstom Transport’s purpose designed bogie maintenance facility at their Longsight Depot in Manchester.
The rotators have been utilised to carry out the H2 service requirements and are now being utilised on the Class 175 service, with the equipment proving to be an integral utility within the bogie overhaul process which will see them being used for the H3 overhaul and beyond.
Lloyds Somers designs and manufactures both static and mobile bogie rotators, each application purposes designed and tailored to suit the client’s particular application and requirements.

be utilised in various locations throughout the maintenance facility whilst maintain all the safety and control features of the static rotators.
Lloyds Somers Mobile Bogie Rotators are used throughout the rail industry for maintenance and repair of freight, conventional and light rail bogie with equipment previously supplied and are in daily use at DBSchenkers (EWS), West Midlands Metro and Strathclyde Passenger Transport (Clockwork Orange Line).
The French Train Operator, SNCF, has recently ordered four sets of Lloyds Somers Mobile Bogie Rotators for maintenance, service and repair of their fleet of TGV and Corail Bogies. The Rotators will be sited at SNCF’s Romilly and Hellemmes Maintenance Depots.
