the jade piece itself contains a hidden invisible luster that has the power to ward off evil spirits that may be lurking around, and instead, attract the good-luck-bringing spirits of the heaven realms. Wearing a jade bangle on one’s hands also causes the bangle to take on a life of its own, and this arises from the continuous movement of the hand. Tis in turn results in a constantly moving energy that energizes the flow of chi between heaven and human realms. Many people believe it is this constant supply of yang chi on the jade bangle that actually causes it to grow in luster and beauty. Indeed, when your jade bangle turns green from lavender or white, it is the surest indication that you will rise in status and your prosperity will grow. If your jade bangle is already green in colour, the shade of green will get deeper and darker and its translucence will likewise get enhanced.

When this happens, it means that

your jade bangle is “sarng” i.e. alive, and this attracts a great deal of good fortune and happiness your way. It also brings new opportunities and those working in a career situation could well get offered a promotion with greater responsibilities and income.

The movement of the jade bangle also has a wonderful health benefit. Tis arises from the bangle continuously and constantly touching specific pressure points around the wrist. Tis massages the acupressure points found around the wrist area. Blood circulation gets improved substantially thus resulting in general wellbeing. Tere is no other piece of jade

jewellery that is regarded as more valuable than the bangle, except perhaps the jade that is worn as a ring. Tis must be mounted with the back of the jade touching the skin. Jade rings set with a solid piece of silver or gold covering its back are rarely genuine, and even if they are, in all likelihood there will be a crack of some severity that needs to be covered up. In fact, jade is best worn without any gold or silver holding it in place.

Amber Chia in Mandalay’s signature jadeite piece worth RM6.8M.

Te best jade pieces are always worn with no other embellishments, and if they are, these should be kept to a minimum. Jade that is set with too much gold and diamonds are usually pieces of jade that are not perfect. Te stones and gold are then used to skillfully hide the imperfections of the jade. Tus superior jade pieces rarely have too many diamonds. It is only when jade sits proudly

around your neck, your wrist or your finger, totally standing on its own, can the true beauty of jade be seen.

More importantly, then only can the fullest essence of the jade be released. Tey may not look as good as fine jewellery elaborately set with high priced diamonds, but they attract maximum great good fortune this way. If you are planning on getting

yourself a piece of jade and it is your first piece, many veteran wearers of jade strongly recommend that you get yourself as good a jade bangle that you can afford. Look on the buying of jade as an investment, and this means buying the best you can afford!
