The Chinese always look to the year’s Four Pillars chart to read the destiny outlook for the year. This offers an uncannily accurate snapshot of the next twelve months, revealing hidden forces that affect the fortunes of the year. We thus take a good hard look at the coming year’s Paht

Chee chart and analyze the eight elements that make up the year’s four pillars. These show us the elements of the heavenly stems and earthly branches that dominate the chi energy of 2011.

of two Tigers, which suggests that the Tiger energies of 2010 have not entirely abated. T e scenario is not unlike that of the previous year, but maybe worse; clashing elements are always indicators of hard times, so the energy of the year looks discordant. T e chart shows Metal and Wood

dominating, with Metal having the upper hand. T e essence of the year is Metal, but it is neither weak nor strong Metal. Although we see three Metals in the chart, the Water and Fire of the Hour pillar destroys and weakens the Metal. And because there is no Earth present in the chart, Metal lacks the resources to stay strong. T e absence of Earth also suggests an unbalanced chart, another indication of turmoil.

PRESSURES DIRECTLY DON’T COMBAT COMPETITIVE

ast year was a year of unstable earth disasters characterized by rocky oceans and earthquakes. Hidden Earth

energies rumbled and brought tragedy to many parts of the globe. In the coming year of the Golden Rabbit, the Four Pillars chart continues to look foreboding. T e chart indicates not one pillar of directly clashing elements but four! All four pillars have discordant energies with three pillars featuring Metal crushing Wood, indicating that the Rabbit of 2011 is not going to be a docile one. T e remaining pillar has Water destroying Fire. So in 2011, all four pillars that make up the Eight Characters chart of the year are directly clashing. T is is not a good indication and comes as a

clear warning for everyone to be more careful. Travel and risk-taking are best kept to a minimum, and it is a good idea to be prepared at all times. T is is not a year to tempt fate. It is better to stay home than to travel. In the Day, Month and Year pillars, we have Metal destroying Wood and in the Hour pillar, Water destroys Fire. Each of the four pillars indicates extremely negative outlooks for the year; so from year start to year end, hostile energies dominate. Disharmony is the prominent force of the coming year and despite the Rabbit, usually an icon of diplomacy, it appears that the cosmic forces this year bring prejudice and intolerance. The chart also shows the presence

With this obvious imbalance, the prevailing attitude during the year is one of unrelenting intolerance. T ere are three Metals indicating the presence of competitive pressures, but the strength of the Metals cannot be sustained because of the lack of Earth. T is indicates that competitive pressures cannot be sustained and it is best to not be pushed into a corner by competitors. Yin Metal clashes with Yin Wood, indicating physical accidents that hurt the neck and spinal column. Health problems pertaining to the liver, neck and respiratory system dominate. It also indicates assassinations, and more secret and terrorist plots. Yin Metal represents small beautiful objects but can become a small weapon. T is means there are hidden agendas. It is best to
