With a knife, I cut around the design and place it on the tank. I use 3M scotch tape with old paper on the tank areas that are not to be painted. I always start from the back of the painting, making the back ground color with very thin coats of Purple Candy. When I get the right back ground color, I spray entirely free hand the edge of the tribal design (which is also the flower stem), and than the shadow areas. Next with Blue Candy color, I paint around the design mask to create a kind of Chameleon color. I add some rays behind the flower to create a feeling of movement in the design. The rays are done with Purple and Blue Candy.

The sides of the tank are masked and I focus now on back ground color of the full tank. I spray the same Purple Candy, always with very light coats and the same work has to be done around the de- sign. I spray the edge of the girl with Purple Candy. Next I take a knife and cut the various parts of the top design. Be soft with the knife! When all the parts are cut, I remove each mask from the back to the front. When the first mask is removed (the far one!), I use a very thin Black Auto Air. I spray the outline of the part, try- ing to get a good modeling by tracing the shadows. So, part after part, from farthest too the nearest, I do the same work!

Now, all the designs are outlined. To paint the eyes, nose and mouth of the girl, I use the prints or copies I’ve done of the design, I cut the nos- trils, the lips, the eyes, and I spray a very thin black, just enough to create a very soft effect.

Same work is done on flowers and leafs. With very thin Red Auto Air, I spray over all the flowers by free hand.
