Hot Design
2011 wedding style is trending towards the more eclectic. We have recently designed events using mixed size tables, assorted china and a variety of floral arrangements. We are seeing a lot of wooden farm tables with an array of low flower arrangements spanning the length of the table. Candles and containers of different heights, sizes, and colors mixed in with the florals give your event a very fresh and current look. Brides are nodding toward the organic and seasonal, using raw branches and birch bark vases. Being environmentally mindful is a definite trend as we continue to push toward “going green” with our weddings. Try layering materials with a French linen grain sack or create a shabby chic look with a variety of vintage linens from your favorite antique haunts. Or anchor your wedding around a hot fresh color -- turquoise and lavender have been big wedding colors in 2010 -- the experts are predicting earth tones in 2011.
Spend an afternoon at the bookstore thumbing through wedding magazines and bring home the ones that inspire you. Perusing the images of recent weddings will give you an overall sense of what you desire for the look and feel of your own wedding to be or not to be. Creating a file of your favorite ideas and images is a great place to start, and pulling pictures from websites and blogs is as important as ripping out pages from wedding and décor magazine. Keep in mind that you are not limited to purely wedding blogs or websites. You will find that interior design blogs often feature exciting tabletop or entertaining ideas to inspire your wedding décor.
