The Announcement......
Save the Date Electronic or paper? Although most save the dates are paper, there is a decided trend towards electronic save the dates…through sites like www.
paperlesspost.com or
www.pingg.com. They can be a fun and effective way of spreading the word about your big day.
The Invitation There is just nothing more lovely than receiving a wedding invitation addressed with beautiful handwriting or calligraphy. Printed invitations are still the gold standard way to invite your guests to your wedding day. We like to keep the invitations rather pristine so we send out the accommodation information with the save the date.
Wedding Program and Menu Ideally it is best to take elements of your reception décor, the style, color and tone and weave this thread through your paper products and invitations. It is a huge help to work with a vendor who appreciates your taste and knows how to reflect it through your paper elements. Working with the same vendor for all of your printed materials will help ‘brand’ the feel of your wedding.
Create a Website! We love suggesting personalized websites for our brides for a number of reasons. First, all the details are in one place and guests can refer to them at their leisure. Take a look at www. wedding
window.com – it makes the process super easy. We especially like the fact that you don’t have to send out guest information booklets or accommodation cards as all the information is listed on your wedding website. Your web address can be listed on your save the date and then again on a separate card or on the RSVP card with the invitation.

~ TIP ~
Once you set your date, remember to set a printed materials schedule. Mark your calendar with mailing dates for your save the date and invitations. Save the dates are typically sent 10 to 6 months ahead of time and invitations range from 10 to 6 weeks. When you meet with your stationer, be sure to share your goal mailing dates to ensure that you are operating on the same timeline. You will need to cushion your mailing date with enough time for design, at least one round of proofs, printing turn around time, and lastly shipping days.
