One pedestrian was searched, and the robbers fled when a police car approached. NINTH ST., 1100 block, 10:30 to 10:40 p.m. Oct. 10. A man asked a male for cash. When the male refused, the man pushed him and took cash from his pocket. 12TH ST., 2100 block, 8:10 to 8:12 p.m. A male youth demanded property from a female as she was walking her dog. She said she didn’t have any property, and he fled. 16TH AND K STREETS, 1:15 a.m. Oct. 8. A man placed a knife to a male pedestrian’s chest, and an accomplice took his wallet. 16TH AND LAMONT STREETS, 6:10 to 6:39 p.m. Oct. 10. Several people approached two people. One of the two was punched in the face, and a cellphone was taken from the other. The group assaulted the two and fled. 17TH ST. AND NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 12:45 to 12:46 a.m. Oct. 10. A man asked a female pedestrian for the time, and she told him after looking at her cellphone. She continued walking, and he grabbed her arm and took the cellphone.
20TH AND P STREETS, 7:45 to 7:47 p.m. Oct. 11. A female pedestrian heard footsteps behind her as she was using a cellphone. A male youth then hit the back of her head. She dropped the cellphone, and another robber picked it up. The robbers fled. A witness heard her shout for help and saw one robber drop the cellphone nearby. The robbers fled into a Metro station. 20TH ST., 27400 block, 2:20 to 2:25 a.m. Oct. 9. A taxi driver drove a passenger to a destination, and three male youths approached with a handgun and demanded cash. One reached inside the vehicle and took a cellphone and wallet. The robbers fled. A female was unable to enter the front door of her residence because a security chain had been secured inside. To prevent breaking the chain, she went to the back of the residence and found that a window screen of a porch was open and that a wooden door and its lock had been damaged. The intruder took property and left through the front door using a key that was inside the lock.
