HOMICIDES WST., 1200 block, 6:25 a.m. Oct. 13. Sanitation worker Larry Hutchins, 51, of Maryland and another person were shot by an assailant in the parking lot of a Department of Public Works facility. The assailant, who possibly was wearing a uniform, fled. Hutchins and the other person were taken to a hospital, where Hutchins was pronounced dead. SEXUAL ASSAULTS BENNING RD., 1900 block, 5 p.m. June 7. A male juvenile sexually assaulted a female youth in an alley. CHANNING ST., 7:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 8. A male with a vehicle offered a ride to a female, who accepted. Instead of driving the female to her destination, a male took her to a residence, where he sexually assaulted her. KENILWORTH AVE., 1200 to 1600 blocks, 1:45 a.m. Oct. 8. Four people entered a building by smashing a side door. An intruder with a gun demanded money from a female occupant. She said did not have any. Another intruder forced her to remove her clothing, then raped her. The intruders fled. MINNESOTA AVE., 4000 to 4900 blocks, noon Oct. 10. A male intruder entered a residence through a bedroom window and sexually assaulted a female resident. 12TH ST., 2:26 to 2:29 p.m. Oct. 12. A male followed a female into an apartment building, showed a knife and demanded money. She gave him her purse. He then forced her into her apartment and tried to sexually her. She resisted, and the assailant fled in her vehicle. ROBBERIES BENNING RD., 1500 block, 7:28 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12. Several people assaulted and robbed a person. BENNING RD., 1500 block, 12:30 p.m. Oct. 10. A gunman robbed a male at a residence. BENNING RD., 1700 block, 7 p.m. Oct. 10. Two males robbed a female pedestrian. BENNING RD., 2600 block, 10 a.m. Oct. 11. A male robbed a male at a service station. BENNING RD., 3400 block, 9:53 p.m. Oct. 11. Three males assaulted and robbed a male pedestrian. BROOKS ST., 4900 block, 2:30 to 2:32 a.m. Oct. 11. A gunman in a vehicle forced two people to get out of another vehicle, then robbed them of property and fled in their vehicle. CONSTITUTION AVE., 919 block, 2 to 2:04 a.m. Oct. 9. A male robbed two pedestrians. GST., 800 block, 9:10 to 9:12 p.m. Oct. 7. A gunman robbed two pedestrians, then fled with two
accomplices. JAY ST., 3500 block, 7:45 a.m. Oct. 12. A gunman robbed a male at a vehicle, then fled in the vehicle with an accomplice.
LINCOLN AND T STREETS, 4:22 to 4:27 p.m. Oct. 8. Two males assaulted and robbed a male pedestrian, then fled with several accomplices. MINNESOTA AVE., 3800 block, 1:02 a.m. Oct. 8. A gunman and another male assaulted and tried to rob a male at a service station. An arrest was made.
MINNESOTA AVE., 4000 block, 10:20 p.m. Oct. 7. A male assaulted and robbed a pedestrian on a bridge. QUEENS CHAPEL RD., 2100 block, 12:25 a.m. Oct. 4. Two gunmen robbed two people at a vehicle, then fled in another vehicle with an accomplice. The robbers returned in the vehicle, and bullets were fired from the vehicle at the two people’s vehicle. RHODE ISLAND AVE., 800 block, 10:45 to 10:47 p.m. Oct. 9. Several people assaulted and robbed three pedestrians. RIGGS RD., 500 block, 5:10 to 5:11 p.m. Oct. 9. A male juvenile robbed a pedestrian of cash. RIGGS RD., 500 block, 2:02 p.m. Oct. 10. Two males assaulted a male and took his scooter. FOURTH ST. AND RHODE ISLAND AVE., 4:15 p.m. Oct. 11. A male assaulted and robbed a female pedestrian, then fled in a vehicle with an accomplice. 16TH ST., 1200 block, 11:55 p.m. Oct. 7 to 2:30 a.m. Oct. 8. A gunman assaulted and tried to rob a male pedestrian. The pedestrian ran into a residence, and the assailant fled with several accomplices. 45TH ST., 1500 block, 10 p.m. Oct. 2 to 2:30 a.m. Oct. 3. A gunman robbed a female at a residence. 54TH ST., 300 block, 2:10 to 2:13 a.m. Oct. 10. A gunman and two accomplices assaulted and robbed a male at a residence. SEXUAL ASSAULTS WISCONSIN AVE., 2000 block, 5 to 5:05 a.m. Oct. 11. A male groped a female pedestrian and fled. An arrest was made. SEVENTH ST., 4:40 to 4:47 a.m. Oct. 8. A female met a male outside a club, and he invited her to go with him to another location, where they used marijuana. Afterward, he sexually assaulted her and fled. ROBBERIES BELMONT ST., 1300 block, 11:30 to 11:40 p.m. Oct. 11. A taxi driver picked up two passengers at 14th and P streets NW. The passengers threatened him at gunpoint and took his cash, cellphone and keys, then fled from the vehicle. COLUMBIA RD., 1300 block, 12:01 a.m. Oct. 10. A female approached a male at 14th and Irving streets NW and said she knew the location of a party. He went with her to another
location, then later woke up with injuries from having been beaten and robbed. EASTERN AVE., 7700 block, 4:45 to 4:48 a.m. Oct. 11. A gunman and an accomplice hit a pedestrian. The accomplice then took property, and they fled. EUCLID ST., 1700 block, 2:15 to 2:45 a.m. Oct. 10. Several males approached a male pedestrian, and one punched his eye and took a cellphone and a wallet. FLORIDA AVE., 900 block, 1:30 to 1:40 a.m. Oct. 11. A man snatched a male pedestrian’s cellphone while he was using it and left on a bicycle. FLORIDA AVE., 1400 block, 9 to 9:01 p.m. Oct. 8. A male told a pedestrian he had a handgun and demanded a cellphone. He then assaulted the pedestrian, took property and fled. HARVARD ST., 700 block, 5:20 to 5:30 a.m. Oct. 10. A cabdriver and a passenger were arguing when two men pulled the passenger from the vehicle and into an alley. They assaulted and robbed the person and fled. KALORAMA RD., 1700 block, 12:15 to 12:17 a.m. Oct. 11. Two male youths with a mallet and a knife approached a male parking his vehicle. They demanded property, and he gave up a wallet and a cellphone. The wallet was returned after cash was taken from it. They fled. Two male youths, ages 13 and 15, were arrested. KENYON ST., 1300 block, 11:47 to 11:49 p.m. Oct. 10. Two male youths approached a male while he was smoking a cigarette. One showed a knife, and the other demanded property. He emptied his pockets and threw the contents on the ground. As the boys were retrieving the items, he fled into a residential building. Two male youths, 13 and 15, were arrested. NST., 400 block, 8:30 to 8:35 p.m. Oct. 10. Three people were having dinner at the rear of a building when a gunman approached and demanded cash and cellphones. They complied, and he fled. NST., 1000 block, 2:10 to 2:20 a.m. Oct. 12. A man was engaged in a conversation with male pedestrian, then pushed him to the ground, took property and fled. NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 4100 block, 3:15 to 3:16 a.m. Oct. 9. A man passed a female pedestrian. He then stopped and grabbed her iPod headphones and demanded cash. He took her purse, showed a gun and fled. NEWTON ST., 1400 block, 11:30 to 11:40 p.m. Oct. 8. Two men assaulted and robbed a pedestrian, then fled when a witness shouted at them. OTIS PL., 1400 block, 4 to 4:05 a.m. Oct. 10. Two male youths dragged a male pedestrian into an alley, where they assaulted and robbed him. QUARRY RD., 2800 block, 9:55 to 10:05 p.m. Oct. 11. Two male youths
approached a male as he was leaving his vehicle, and one showed a handgun and demanded cash. The male gave up cash, and they took other items from him. RHODE ISLAND AVE., 1400 block, 4:50 to 4:51 a.m. Oct. 10. A driver picked up a female at 18th and K streets NW and drove her to Rhode Island Avenue. A male accomplice of hers approached with a handgun and ordered the driver from the car. The driver complied and gave up a bracelet and a wallet. The male and female then fled. ROCK CREEK CHURCH RD., 1-99 block, 2:45 a.m. Oct. 9. A man showed a knife and robbed a male pedestrian of a wallet, a cellphone and cash. SOMERSET PL., 1400 block, 10:33 to 10:40 p.m. Oct. 8. A man told a male he wanted to speak with him, then showed a weapon. The male ran to a location, where he contacted police. A man, 18, was arrested. FOURTH ST. AND NEW YORK AVE., 5:52 to 5:55 p.m. Oct. 11. Several youths approached a female pedestrian, and one snatched property from her. FOURTH ST., 4500 block, 12:15 to 12:39 a.m. Oct. 10. A gunman robbed two people of property. FIFTH ST., 5600 block, 1 to 3:15 a.m. Oct. 8. Several males approached a male pedestrian from behind, then assaulted and robbed him. SEVENTH ST., 700 block, Oct. 9. A man snatched property from a female and fled.
SEVENTH ST., 1900 block, 1:28 to 1:31 p.m. to Oct. 8. A man approached a male employee in a store and snatched property. He then grabbed the employee, demanded cash and tried to take more property from him.
