DISTRIBUTOR DEALS
● German machine vision software specialist MVTec has announced that its products will be distributed in Israel by OpteamX, based in Azor, near Tel Aviv.
APTEX
Clemex Technologies has added pre-programmed international standards to its computerised microscopy image systems. The integrated Clemex PSFilter hardware and software systems, distributed in the UK by Aptex, offer computerised, microscopic,
image analysis of particulates down to 0.5µm.
The systems are used
primarily for quality control and research in a range of automotive component manufacturing applications and in the
environmental control, food, engineering, pharmaceutical, electronic and aerospace
industries. They also allow for macroscopic analysis, which yields results for particles greater than 5µm. Compared with
particle characterisation and measurement by other
methods, computerised image analysis offers the benefi ts of reliable and repeatable analysis by shape, size, colour and texture with particulates in their most mechanically stable position, i.e. on fi lters, wafers or tape. Analysis is possible on any type or mix of particles – opaque, semi-transparent, crystalline, textured, coloured etc.
The introduction into the Clemex PSFilter system of the new pull-down menus of international standards enables pre-programmed international
standards to be applied to particle analysis and reporting for a variety of applications. The standards include ISO 4406 and ISO 4407, which relate to the contamination of hydraulic fl uids by solid particulates. ISO 4406 defi nes the method used for coding fl uid contamination and specifi es that samples must be analysed in accordance with the procedures laid down in ISO 4407. Clemex PSFilter systems ensure that sample analysis complies with both of these standards.

STEMMER IMAGING
Stemmer Imaging has introduced the Manta family of GigE cameras and the Prosilica GX1910 camera from Allied Vision Technologies (AVT). The Manta range of simple, robust GigE cameras is available in both monochrome and colour versions with Sony CCD sensors providing resolution from VGA to two megapixels. The emphasis with the Manta range has been on the use of cost effective components and a design that reduces manufacturing costs, while maintaining a feature set generally found only on more expensive cameras. With a new single board electronic architecture and a rugged cast housing, Manta offers proven AVT dependability for a wide range of industrial applications that do not require complex and demanding image pre-processing functions. Manta is AVT’s entry level GigE camera. Smart features available include ROI (Region of Interest readout), auto-exposure, white
balance, hue, saturation, sharpness (colour versions), gain, and gamma (0.5), among others. The Prosilica GX1910 is a fast
GigE Vision camera available with 2 Megapixel HD (1,080p) resolution. Data transmission is at 240MB/s through the dual GigE Vision (Link Aggregation Group technology) interface.
The high quality HD image format makes the GX1910 ideally suited to a host of applications including public security, surveillance, traffi c imaging and ophthalmology, as well as industrial applications such as industrial inspection, machine vision and medical imaging. A dedicated lens control interface provides three-axis motorised lens control and video auto-iris functionality. This allows the camera to adapt to changing lighting or object distance conditions in demanding applications, such as outdoor imaging or intelligent transportation systems.
Also well suited for industrial applications, the GX1910 comes in a compact, ribbed camera housing specially designed for heat dissipation and it can operate at temperatures up to 50°C. The GX1910 runs 63fps at 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and even faster with smaller region of interest readouts. It has two Gigabit Ethernet ports confi gured as a Link Aggregation Group to provide a sustained maximum data rate of 240MB/s over conventional Cat5e cables up to 100 metres long. Also available from Stemmer Imaging is the TEC-V7X lens from Computar, which offers dual functionality. Designed for use with high resolution cameras up to 5 Megapixels with 1/1.1-inch image sensors, this versatile lens operates both as a 7x macro zoom lens with 0.07x to 0.5x magnifi cation and as a telecentric lens within the 0.25x to 0.5x magnifi cation range. It provides excellent brightness throughout the zoom range, maintaining 70 per cent illumination at both centre and corners.
