THE KNOWLEDGE REVEALED A closer look at winning swimfeeders

Feeder set-ups are very productive on commercial pools but even the humble swimfeeder has been transformed and reinvented.

Fishing tackle items in general have changed and been adapted to get the best out of carp lakes and the swimfeeder is no exception. Shown below are recent innovations and adaptations of feeders, the item that is used in what is possibly the UK’s favourite style of fi shing.

THE SHOT GUN

This feeder has to be the most successful feeder of the past eighteen months. It was designed by Rob Wootton and has been used to great eff ect by many leading anglers. It has revolutionised the way that pellet can be used with a feeder. The feeder actually delivers the bait into a tempting dinner plate style presentation.

FLAT BED SPLASH’EM METHOD

Middy now off er their popular Splash ‘Em and method feeders as in-line or ready-elasticated models. The elastic is attached to the top of the feeders in a special way to ensure fi sh safety, fi nishing at the bottom of the feeder with a neat ring that allows you to easily attach short hook lengths. The in-line Splash ‘Em was given the “Best Buy” award by Angler’s Mail columnist Dave Coster and the elasticated version is sure to be in demand.

IN-LINE METHOD FEEDER The original method feeder with an

In-line safe-fi sh system. Easily mould a method mix around the cage hiding your hook-bait just below the surface. They cast like a dream. Available in three sizes: Mini (10g), Med (25g) and Lrg (35g).

CARP CAGE FEEDERS

These compact cage feeders are ideal for carp fi shing on commercials. Available in four sizes: 10g, 15g, 20g and 28g. The smallest (10g) model is ideal for ‘single corn’ on the hook winter fi shing when minimal bait is required.

SPEED FEEDERS

These feeders have unique caps that simply clip off to make fi lling quick and easy. The cap will, when pulled from the centre swivel, withstand 30lb pressure and will not come off during fi shing. The leads are specially designed to assist the cast and hold bottom. Available in 35g and 42g side lead versions and 14g and 21g screw-in interchangeable bottom lead versions.

Now also available with a safe ready elasticated set-up.
