Spider cranes draw visitors
Featured on the stand of lifting specialists GGR Group, examples of the range of UNIC mini spider cranes attracted much attention. These compact vehicles with low marking crawler tracks provide a versatile lifting capability in very confined spaces. Typical rail applications include operations in tunnels or below ground, machinery removal or installation and works between floors.
One of the models featured on the stand
was the newest addition to the UNIC range, the URW-094. Weighing just 1,000 kg and only 595 mm wide, this has a lifting capacity of almost 1 tonne, with a 5.59 m boom and a 5 6 m maximum hook height. GGR Rail says it is evaluating the
commercial potential of converting the GGR spiders into a dedicated RMMM and is also considering fitting the crane with rail wheels so it can be transported behind a Kubota, for example.
