TOMORROW’S CLEANING MAY 10

Scrubber solution

EACH DAY, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US WALKS ACROSS A FLOOR, SO IT MAKES SENSE THAT FLOORCARE IS A HUGE PRIORITY. SOME FLOORS CAN COVER AN EXPANSIVE AREA SO SOMETIMES A MOP AND BUCKET IS NOT RIGHT FOR THE JOB. IPC GANSOW TELLS US MORE.

IPC Gansow, IPC’s specialist floorcare division, is the leading solution provider for all floor cleaning requirements, which manufactures an extensive range of high performance floor cleaning machines for specific purposes, including scrubber dryers and motor sweepers. Now, however, the IPC Gansow range is evolving towards genuine integrated floor cleaning systems, designed and made to partner all cleaning and sanitising professionals.

Improved ecology, lower running costs, higher profitability, and top quality cleaning are the basic features of the new ECS system, which is packed with unique solutions to revolutionise the very concept of floor cleaning.

The CT40 ECS floor cleaning machine is fitted with an innovative and exclusive Micro Scrub scrubbing system and a microfibre pad from IPC Ready System. This means that the

machine can be used as both a standard scrubber dryer at 180 rpm and a buffer/polisher at 600 rpm. The special water dispensing system of the CT40 ECS, washes all types of floor with just 0.15 litres of water a minute, instead of the 1.5 litres/minute consumed by conventional scrubber dryers.

Microfibre cleaning is one of the main features of this application, and we are undertaking trials at the London Royal Free Hospital and the Nottingham General Hospital on microfibre scrubbing. Particularly in Operating Theatres, Intensive Care Wards where hygiene is the top priority. For example, at the London Royal Free Hospital, we cleaned a floor with microfibre pads two hours after it had been cleaned with a conventional scrubber drier using brushes/pads, and illustrated by the dirty water in the recovery tank, how dirty that floor was, despite cleaning two hours before.

To further improve your infection control the Microfibre mops can be laundered for up to 500 washes. While the benefits have been noted within the hospital and healthcare environment this application would be a useful tool within the Food Industry where a very clean environment is also of the utmost priority.

Noise can always be an issue, especially when working within daytime hours when many people are around, which is why when brush/pad drive motor, traction motor, vacuum are in operation, we record a noise level of 58 dbA.

This unique technology at the heart of the ECS system has been developed and perfected down to the smallest detail to maximise the system’s cleaning potential and functional

characteristics. Superb results are guaranteed by three main technical features:

1) Ultra-high speed: At 600 rpm, the pad rotates three times faster than on a conventional scrubber dryer, maximising the cleaning potential of millions of fibres.

2) Ultra-low pressure: The pad only skims the surface of the floor, allowing better oxygenation of the pad fibres.

3) Ultra-low water consumption: Only

0.15 litres/minute is needed to achieve results far beyond those possible with a conventional system.

The Chem Dose detergent micro-dosing system reduces detergent consumption by as much as 90%, eliminating wastage and needless pollution and ensuring optimum dosage.

Finally, the “Energy Saver” technology in the CT40 ECS uses approximately 15% less energy than conventional scrubber dryers. The batteries can be charged using either a Battery Life Saver or the on-board battery charger, both of which give valuable extra cycles and consume up to 30% less mains power.

ECS is also an “open” system, and represents the first phase of a far wider-ranging project to develop new cleaning solutions offering lower running costs and improved environmental protection at excellent standards of efficiency and quality.
