TOMORROW’S CLEANING MAY 10

There’s no business like show business

TOMORROW’S CLEANING EDITOR, CHARLOTTE TAYLOR, GIVES HER OVERVIEW ON THE CLEANING INDUSTRY EVENT OF THE YEAR...

Well, it’s finally over. We walked, we talked, we saw some great new innovations, we made some great business deals. Interclean has come and gone.

Despite the Icelandic ash cloud darkening the skies, bringing European air traffic to a grinding halt, the sun came out for ISSA/Interclean. This year’s event had a record number of exhibitors, with 651 stands in total and these exhibitors were very satisfied with the 23,415 visitors and the many networking opportunities made available.

The new Washroom Hall and High Pressure outdoors area were a great success, enabling visitors to go directly to the areas they were involved in. Åsa Kalentun, Regional Marketing

Director NorthWest of Tork / SCA Hygiene

Products: “We were a little concerned about the visitor numbers due to the travel situation in the previous week. However, leads were of a better quality as most of the visitors coming to the new Washroom Hall were already very interested in Washroom products. Overall a highly successful show for SCA!”

This, as you all know, was my first ever trip to ISSA/Interclean. As a new media for the industry, we recognised the importance of exhibiting there, especially being one of only two of the UK magazines exhibiting, both ourselves and C&M; offering support for our readers and clients alike.

So with business cards, notebooks, pens, and my Blackberry in tow, I headed out into the swarming exhibition. There were so many sights to see, places to be and people to see, so here are just a few snippets from this year’s Interclean...

ISSA made many important announcements at the show this year, including its alliance with Italian cleaning machinery distribution group Afidampcom. Our video shows a short snippet from the announcement (from left): ISSA President David Holtzman, Afidampcom Vice President Luca Mirandola, Afidampcom Secretary General Stefania Verrienti holding the certificate, ISSA Italian Board Representative Stefano Grosso and ISSA International Director Bob Stahurski. ISSA and BICS International have also formed a coalition and ISSA has also renewed its partnership with the CHSA.

The Diversey stands were alive with people and were possibly some of the busiest stands during the show. With demonstrations of the latest products, including the TASKI Swingo, which I was privileged enough to try.

Brodex celebrated their first show ever, and as stand neighbours, I can personally report that they were very busy indeed - inundated with visitors and securing some potential clients.

Truvox presented a host of products, including their new Valet Upright Vac with the unique Quick Draw tool, which we will be testing in next month’s issue, so keep a look out for that. To find out more about their latest innovation, the Truvox Orbis Battery Scrubber, turn to page 45 now.

Rubbermaid’s Hygen Microfibre Cleaning System was certainly a favourite innovation of mine and is certainly a product to look out for in the future. Combining a unique integrated filter chamber with an innovative touch-free mop, generating cleaner water, maintaining a cleaner mop and resulting in a cleaner floor.

Hydro Nova Europe told us that they had a very successful show, and with some great products and chocolate lollipops in the shape of their innovative AcuDose II dispensing system, they had the recipe for success.

A product that left me awestruck was the ActiveIon ionator EXP. I had obviously heard about it and seen the pictures but nothing Page 1  |  Page 2  |  Page 3  |  Page 4  |  Page 5  |  Page 6  |  Page 7  |  Page 8  |  Page 9  |  Page 10  |  Page 11  |  Page 12  |  Page 13  |  Page 14  |  Page 15  |  Page 16  |  Page 17  |  Page 18  |  Page 19  |  Page 20  |  Page 21  |  Page 22  |  Page 23  |  Page 24  |  Page 25  |  Page 26  |  Page 27  |  Page 28  |  Page 29  |  Page 30  |  Page 31  |  Page 32  |  Page 33  |  Page 34  |  Page 35  |  Page 36  |  Page 37  |  Page 38  |  Page 39  |  Page 40  |  Page 41  |  Page 42  |  Page 43  |  Page 44  |  Page 45  |  Page 46  |  Page 47  |  Page 48  |  Page 49  |  Page 50  |  Page 51  |  Page 52  |  Page 53  |  Page 54  |  Page 55  |  Page 56  |  Page 57  |  Page 58  |  Page 59  |  Page 60  |  Page 61  |  Page 62  |  Page 63  |  Page 64  |  Page 65  |  Page 66  |  Page 67  |  Page 68  |  Page 69  |  Page 70
