Power Electrics Generators, the UK’s leading independent supplier of specialist generators for sale and rental, has installed a standby generator at RWE npower’s Didcot B Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Station. Rated at 1850kVA, the

Global energy management specialist Schneider Electric has launched a new security system for its Isobar circuit breaker distribution boards, creating a safer environment for those working nearby. It has various safety levels,
including: a padlocking facility that prevents the circuit from accidentally being switched off; the ability to lock off the Isobar off load disconnector; and a fingerproof key lock-off system. The key locks and padlocks
can be retrofitted, allowing existing installations to be upgraded as required.

The breakthrough design will be the first LED lantern capable of lighting major traffic routes that Thorn will market to municipalities when it becomes available this autumn. Other exhibits included
modular LEDs; motion-based adaptive road lighting; and new ecoCalc software to help specifiers calculate the whole life costs incurred by lighting solutions.

Venture Lighting, the world leader in Metal Halide technology, has supplied its 350W Uni-Form® Pulse Start lamps and control gear as part of a conversion kit for beer company Carlsberg UK. The new Venture 350W
lamps were fitted with solid reflectors within the existing luminaires to increase the lux level at one metre above ground level from 80 lux to 250 lux. Following a trial, there was a
vast improvement in the overall illumination and excellent lux levels were achieved. John Baker of Carlsberg
said: ‘We could see a dramatic improvement in light levels and are very happy with the conversion.’
