Holidays are part of happy lives
We feel that both Virgin Holidays and Virgin Limited Edition make a positive contribution to their customers’ wellbeing and happiness by offering exciting, relaxing and stimulating holidays. Holidays can be life changing experiences; they can open people’s eyes to other cultures and the challenges of people living in other countries. Virgin Holidays also recognises that the benefits of a ‘holiday of a lifetime’ can go far deeper than a bit of relaxation and a sun tan, which is why it has:
• teamed up with Dreams Come True to provide an annual allocation of holidays for terminally ill children and their carers
• partnered with Lavenda Springs UK to support a scheme which gives young Londoners at risk of becoming involved in crime and gang culture, the opportunity to experience life changing visits to Kenya to live and work alongside children orphaned by HIV

Yemi Graham age 16
Yemi lives in North West London with his uncle and knows many kids who are involved in gangs. He was very apprehensive about going on the trip to Kenya where he helped to build a house for children orphaned by HIV. He was completely overwhelmed by the huge number of Kenyan children who are living without parents. He had expected that any person living with such hardship would be “cold” when in reality they were warm and inviting. The trip has changed him profoundly, he realises how privileged he is and values the opportunities and security that life in the UK provides. He is more aware of how many young people in the UK are wasting their lives and potential. He says that since returning home he has opened his eyes to the world and has been working to raise money for charity and help his local community.
