BEACH TRASH

WITH BILLI

LAURIE MCKAY & ANDREW JOHN INGRAM tied the

knot on 31st October 2009 at

St. Machar’s Cathedral in Aberdeen.

An excellent day was had by all and the newly Mrs. Ingram looked truly beautiful in her ivory wedding dress - an A line taffeta gown covered in luxurious lace with a sweetheart neckline, embroidered detail carried hints of glistening jewels which captured the light as she moved. Laurie looked and felt like a princess in her dream gown and didn’t want her big day to end.

Fortunately for Laurie, after the wedding was over she did in fact get the opportunity to wear her treasured wedding dress one last time … only to go and TRASH IT! And why, you ask? Not to worry, Dedicated 2 Weddings asked Laurie all about it …

Q: A:

Where did you get the idea to trash your dress from and what made you want to do it?

I got the idea from a magazine I read. At the time I showed the article to my Mum and we joked about it, but as the wedding got closer and closer I mentioned it to her again and from that point on we wound each other up about how much fun it would be and how great it would be to have some really good and unusual pictures to end my album. Then, when Graham from Rubislaw Studio came round to confirm the final photography arrangements for the wedding day I mentioned to him that I wanted to trash my dress - so from that moment on there was no going back! I guess I thought it would keep the wedding momentum going for a little bit longer and it also meant that I would get to wear my dress one extra time!

Q: A:

What gave you the idea to involve your horse?

It was really the photographer’s idea. I had mentioned that I could either get my dress muddy by going into a field with my pet cow, Pamela, or my horse, Billi. Graham then suggested taking the horse to the beach and that’s exactly what we did! I have been riding for about 20 years (since the age of 4), my horse, Spinna- kers Girl (stable name Billi), is 6 years old and is a thoroughbred ex race horse.
