ring. Craig had to be convinced that he even required one, but he loves his modern, smooth and brushed metal effect ring and actually wears it all the time! Zak, Craig’s son was chosen as our ring bearer. I was far more excited about choosing my

dress. It is so true what they say - when you try on ‘THE’ dress,

you just know it! I went to Avorio

Bridal in Fochabers and I would say to any bride, don’t go anywhere else until you’ve been there. The girls were wonderful and the shop is a haven. They stock an array of gowns and accessories from various designers, plus all prices are all clearly displayed so it’s not intimidating in the slightest. I found an Ian Stewart dress that I just fell in love with! It was perfect for our venue - with an elaborate corset and full skirt with bustle at the back. I felt like a princess in it!

My cake was by Fiona Barnett, she designed it to mirror the bustle on my dress. Flowers were by Flower Fashions. First dance was our song, ‘My Girl’ by the Temptations, sung by our awesome band, Splash!, who we found through Elite Promotions. They were even kind enough to play whilst Yasmin, Emily and Faye serenaded us with Take That’s hit song - ’Greatest Day’.

I will always treasure the memories of my wedding day.

I arrived at the Haddo House

chapel on a cold and wintery day but as soon as I walked in, my heart warmed. I saw the trees that had been specially brought in twinkling with lights and candles plus all my wonderful family and friends were there. I was walked down the aisle on my father’s arm to the enchanting sound of both the bagpipes and organ, following behind was Yasmin (Craig’s beautiful 8 year old girl). She had kept me occupied and amused on the journey to the chapel.

After an emotional ceremony, Craig and I were piped along to Haddo House - a grand historic home which was originally designed by William Adam in 1732. As we are both so passionate about food, we, along with our family and closest friends,

enjoyed a gourmet meal cooked by our very own staff from Eat on the Green. We relaxed, taking in the beauty of this wonderful stately home, until early evening when our other guests arrived for yet another sit down meal. This time, to accommodate all the extra guests, we dined in The Hall (situated in the grounds). As our guests arrived in the dark wintery evening, large hurricane lamps and flambé lights illuminated their path. Inside, the hall was beautifully decorated with twinkling trees, chair covers complete with bows and stunning flowers along with glowing hurricane lamps were set on the tables creating a cosy and relaxed atmosphere.

The Friendly Food Company provided

excellent service along with our Eat on the Green staff. The speeches came next and our Best Man, Keith Machray, delivered his speech using a projector which showcased pictures of him and Craig growing up! It was absolutely magical. The day was captured by our good friend Lex Ballantyne who did the photography and Roy Stewart from RSVP who did an amazing job of the videography.

wedding, little did I expect to have to turn it around within 7 weeks! However with the help of their friends, family and local suppliers everything came together nicely.

For the honeymoon, we are going to Mexico. We shall be visiting the Mayan Riviera which is on the Caribbean coast near Chichen Itza, an ancient Mayan settlement and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. We’re going for 2 weeks and I can’t wait. Although I’ll have to lay off the margaritas because I’m expecting a baby!
