Alpha Panareti: History & legacy

Alpha Panareti Public Limited is a family company, established by Neophytos Touloupos in September 1988. Still retaining control of the company, Alpha Panareti is now managed by his children – Andreas Ioannou (sales and marketing), Marina Ioannou (after-sales service) and Katerina Ioannou (accounts) and supported by sons-in-law Ioannou Stylianides and Stavros Stavrou.

Alpha Panareti specialises in custom- designed villas and bungalows as well as major resort developments of maisonettes and apartments. In addition to residential construction, it also has a considerable interest in hotels and ‘holiday ownership’ and currently owns three hotels, all in the Paphos area. Investing further in leisure real estate, Alpha Panareti will be adding new private, de-luxe class hotels with the construction of a 5-star, international hotel on its golf course development at Alassa and a destination ‘boutique’ hotel and spa at its marina site of Porto Mare, near Larnaca.

The company is supported by a permanent professional team of architects, civil engineers, administration and accounting staff and employs its own large team of building tradesmen and general workers. Deborah Nurse, responsible for project plans, marketing material, and general administration for all new clients, is the fi rst point of contact for agents wishing to sell Alpha Panareti properties. Jo-Anne Birkin, who supervises all fi nancial and legal matters concerning the clients’ Contracts of Sale, works closely with

agents and clients to ensure everything runs smoothly - during construction, at delivery and beyond.

Investing in its future and the future of Cyprus, Alpha Panareti produces as much of its own building material as possible, with a strong emphasis on recycling. It also owns its own cement processing plant, making high quality cement on-site for immediate use and without causing excess heavy traffi c and noise in the surrounding areas. All mechanical equipment is bought brand new and owned outright by Alpha Panareti, reducing any reliance on sub- contractors to the minimum.

Committed to the environment, Alpha Panareti’s custom-built desalination plant on the coast will not only supply water to its developments, but excess supplies will be made available to local villages. Electricity for the desalination plant and the power requirements of property at Atlantis and the nearby Alassa Retreat will all be supplied by a major solar power array to be constructed by Alpha Panareti in the hillsides, away from all local habitation. This silent, sustainable and zero-emission plant will use new technology to work on a 24 hour basis, producing enough power in summer and winter for all Alpha Panareti’s property needs, with any excess fed into the national grid system.

One of the few development companies still owned by the founder, Alpha Panareti is constantly aware of its legacy and is committed to low impact, high return projects that will stand the test of time.
