Carrick Housing reviews fire safety Carrick Housing Ltd, has announced its decision to install Aico’s RadioLINK Professional wireless interconnect system and Ei166RC Optical smoke alarms into its properties as part of a major review of its fire control measures in light of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order. Aico’s RadioLINK Professional system works by allowing mains powered smoke and heat alarms to be wirelessly interconnected. If one alarm on the system is triggered, RF signals are used to cause every other alarm in the property to sound. This ensures everyone gets the earliest possible fire warning, wherever they are in the house, giving them invaluable

Extinguishers provide safety for all Chubb Fire has won an extensive new contract with national greetings card retailer Card Factory. Chubb was asked to quote for the Head Office and two other warehouses’ alarm monitoring, fire alarm and extinguishers, and supplied portable fire extinguishers to 10 new trial stores. To reward its good work, Chubb was awarded the business to supply fire extinguishers to all new stores and the servicing contracts throughout. in sweet waters Ninety two SmokeVent axial flow fans by Elta Fans Building Services Division have been installed in the Galleria Shopping Centre in South
Africa.The contract was to supply: thirty two SmokeVent 900mm models with 7.5kw motors; fifty two 1,000mm models with 7.5kw motors; and eight 1,000mm models with 11kw motors. The SmokeVent range has been specifically developed for emergency smoke spill extract systems to operate as part of the main extraction system or for emergency clearance to overcome hazardous fire, smoke or fume
