According to Plan
Kenny Hasbrouck
The Saints ponder what may have been after
narrowly losing to No. 1 Louisville.
So in a year in which Siena equaled a program record with 27 wins and accomplished
so much on the floor, it wasn’t surprising to see America fall in love with this story.
Sure these guys can play basketball: Kenny Hasbrouck capped off a brilliant career by
being named MAAC Player of the Year, Honorable Mention Associated Press All-American,
MAAC Tournament MVP and NABC District 1 First Team; Edwin Ubiles was also named
First Team All-MAAC and NABC District 1 First Team; Alex Franklin joined Moore on the
MAAC Second Team; Sophomore Clarence Jackson was named MAAC Sixth Man of the
Year; Kyle Downey was selected to the MAAC All-Rookie Team and Ryan Rossiter enjoyed
one of the most improved seasons in the country.
The Saints finished the season ranked No. 28 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll and 19th
in the RPI. They played the No. 1 non-conference schedule in the country and posted an 11-6
record in non-league games. Siena enters the 2009-10 season with a 21-game home court
winning streak – tied for the third longest in the nation after finishing last season a perfect
17-0 at Times Union Center.
