n aspect of production that’s crucial to the industry A
is the condition of the relationship between a
builder and its suppliers. A good supplier is one
that’s prepared to do a lot more than just supply the
required products — and then merely push through
invoices for them. Equally, the best OEMs are those that do more then
simply screw suppliers down on price in an unimaginative search for
effi ciencies.
The most successful suppliers are those that continually review
what they are able to provide. They are the ones that keenly offer
OEMs continual feedback and development initiatives. Any supplier
that becomes complacent with its product, service or client
relationship, begins to slip downwards along a sorry slope.
The best builders, meanwhile, are the ones that diligently review
their fi nal products and remain in constant interaction with their
specialist suppliers in order to refi ne their work.
