It's been a busy few weeks in the Printwear & Promotion office. This month I have been off on my travels
and I am grateful to everyone who took the time and trouble to meet me.
ADVERTISEMENT MANAGER
The roll call this month includes Blue Max at Trowbridge. Their new warehousing operation has resulted in
Tony Gardner
an impressive 99.8 per cent accuracy on picking. The £1million investment has seen the warehouse double
in size, and with the introduction of a new computerised and bar-coded picking system, the investment is

certainly paying off. Having ex-Army logistics expert Kevin Bullen as warehouse manager is also a bonus!
Next, I was in Devon for a visit to Exeter-based Lea Sportswear, the company behind exciting brands such as
CLASSIFIED AND Tombo, Tour Collection and Front Row.
PRODUCTION
End users are actively helping them to develop exciting new products like the full zip tracksuit bottom. In

development of that particular product, which has taken the sports world by storm.
I also paid a flying visit to headwear specialists, Sharon Lee, in Essex. Managing director, Toby Pache, had

some exciting news about their recent appointment as a UK distributor for the fashionable Atlantis range.
DMINISTRATION
The company has certainly come a long way since its origins making block felt novelty hats for the seaside.

I also visited Colchester-based Result Clothing this month. Result has never been a company to stand still

hjames@datateam.co.uk and it intends to celebrate its 15th anniversary with the launch of two new, technically advanced jackets.
Finally, I was also up in Edinburgh for a briefing by the team at Russell. This month's issue has details of a

new campaign from Russell, focussing on their new, A5 jacket brochure. But look out for more news from

Russell in September.

STOP PRESS! Dates have been confirmed for Printwear & Promotion 2010. And for the first time, the
Promota Exhibition will run concurrently on two of the days. Turn to page 5 for more details. As always,
have a great month and stay profitable.
