Choral Collaboration Benefits
Local Agencies
I
n an effort to share music and promote collaboration between
choral groups in the New Haven area, the Greater New
Haven Community Chorus (GNHCC) created a month-long
African-American Gospel workshop for adults and youths in
the region. The culmination of that vocal experience will be a
concert involving GNHCC, workshop participants and several
local church choirs. It will take place on Saturday, March 21
at 8 p.m. In the spirit of community, the public is invited to
witness and experience this event at New Haven’s Woolsey
Hall. A donation of $10, plus a non-perishable food item, is
suggested for persons over the age of 12 to gain entry to the
event. The concert will benefit the Overflow Shelter, The Varick
A.M.E. Zion Church Soup Kitchen, the Nubian Sisters Cancer
Support Group and the Heifer Project.
GNHCC is a chorus comprised of people who love to sing.
No audition is required. The chorus schedules concerts and
small group singing opportunities throughout the region with
a mission to educate audiences and enrich the cultural life of
New Haven. The group was founded in 1963.
Woolsey Hall is located at 500 College Street in New Ha-
ven, CT. For more information visit www.gnhcc.org, or contact
