Healing Tea Party Brightens Lives
W
ell-being can involve finding ways to take care of our-
selves, as well as helping others in need. Circle of Care,
an organization providing immediate and ongoing peer support
to families of children with cancer, is offering an opportunity to
do both simultaneously. The public is invited to overcome the
‘mid-winter slump’ and experience the highly touted health
benefits of tea by joining the organization for a candlelight tea
tasting. Held on Thursday, March 5 from 5 to 8 p.m., this tea
garden journey will take place at the Savvy Tea Gourmet in
Madison. Hors d’oeuvres will be served and a teacup auction
will aim to spice up the gathering. The philanthropic aspect of
the event is that proceeds will support Circle of Care and its af-
filiated program, Art from the Heart. The funds will be used to
provide a spring dream bedroom makeover for a local four year
old currently undergoing cancer treatment.
Savvy Tea Garden’s mission involves health, enjoyment, and
quality of life through tea.
Circle of Care offers assistance to families of children with
cancer through in-hospital programs, telephone peer support,
a resource guide and more. Programs are designed to provide
families with everyday essentials to ease the burden of hospital-
ization, facilitate research and communication with family and
friends, brighten a sick child’s room, and generally support the
family through the difficult days following a cancer diagnosis.
Event tickets: $30. For information, email ghnewton@snet.
