TEAM HELPS SANTA FILL SLEIGH
Shortly before hitting the road for our final game before an 11-day break for Christmas, our
players had another Signing Day in Cameron's Hall of Honor and concourse. "I remember when
I was a kid I used to love getting autographed shoes from NBA players," said Nolan Smith while
signing. "Being able to now sign these posters myself -- It is important that these are all signed
by our own hands and not printed -- It means a lot."
This year's poster is well-suited for autographing, with a nice space below each player where
he can sign. Of course, if you are going to add your name to hundreds of posters, it has to look
sharp. Said Kyle Singler, "A good signature has to have style and flair, and it can't look exactly
look like your name. Having your number as part of the signature is key."
Greg Paulus developed his autograph back in high school. "I was in class signing my name in
cursive and my best friend Victor said I needed a cool signature if I was going to play basketball
at Duke. He and I came up with this and I practiced it and got it done."
Santa was pleased to have a generous supply of signed Blue Devil posters aboard his sleigh
when visiting Duke fans this holiday season. In addition, many of the posters are reserved for lo-
