t was a political year like no other. A frail President Joe Biden abandoned his uphill reelection campaign on July 21st — less than four months before voting
day and just a week after his challenger, Donald Trump, was hit by a bullet. It was one of two assas- sination attempts against the former president. With Biden’s campaign
already faltering, consum- er prices soaring, and the southern border awash with illegal immigrants, questions increased over the president’s mental acuity. Classified docu- ments were found in the garage of his Delaware house, leading to an investigation by special prosecutor Robert Hur. In his 388-page report, Hur painted a sad picture of Biden — one that his political opponents imme- diately seized on — as an elderly man with memory issues who could not r emember when he finished his term as vice president or when his son Beau died.
