WHITE HOUSE DOESN’T UNDERSTAND CHINA THREAT There is no such thing as a constructive dialogue with China (“The Coming War with China,” November). Globalists and progressives are delusional if they believe you can negotiate with tyrants. John Gizzi’s insightful article notes South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol as saying, “The Taiwan issue is not simply an issue between China

and Taiwan but, like North Korea, it is a global issue.” Gordon Chang also understands that Chinese President Xi Jinping is preparing China to go to war. He cites Xi’s military buildup, which should telegraph to us that he’s no friend of the United States and never will be. But those warnings won’t be taken seriously with the current save-the-world do-gooders in the White House.

carlo fulamente Chicago, Ill.

Recently some Chinese friends brought up the 1989 Tiananmen Square uprising. In doing so, they asked how many people in our country would stand up in front of tanks for democracy? Mexican friends quoted Emiliano Zapata, who said, “It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.” And then there’s Patrick Henry, “Give me liberty or give me death.” My question is, how many in our country would be willing to stand up for our democracy? g.l. claxton Caliente, Calif.

GOVERNMENT INACTION I’m appalled by the media’s non- coverage of the aftermath of the hurricanes in the southeast U.S. All they report on is Israel, Ukraine, and politics. What about the human suffering in this country? rick zimmerman Wylie, Texas

imagine, and she works in a hospital not many miles away from the mountains, which got hit the worst. She said the response from the feds was minimal; it was largely locals and churches helping. (“Democrats’ New Election Partner: Federal Government,” June)

anne busa Torrington, Conn.

This administration is insane. A woman reportedly only received $300 because, after a recent hurricane, the federal government decided that she only experienced a “mudslide.” Meanwhile, we throw billions of dollars at illegal immigrants. Now we’re supposedly sending some astronomical amount of money to Lebanon — American tax dollars. (“Democrats’ New Election Partner: Federal Government,” June) carol galvin Boston, Mass.

ELITE FAILURE Governments made up of globalists, elitists, and the wealthy who

are supported by international corporations that inevitably fail the people because they don’t provide life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. For example, is there such a thing as equal education for all? No. The privileged get the best schools for their children, and the many merely receive rudimentary schooling. (“Going for Woke,” October) esteban jimenez Gulf Breeze, Fla.

MIGRANT FUNDING I would like to know more about the NGOs (nongovernmental organizations) purportedly supporting illegal immigrants entering our country. I understand that they are being funded by taxpayer dollars. Who exactly agreed to this? Was this ever supported by Congress? Or was it by an executive order executed by President Joe Biden? (“Will of Steel,” May) richard sullins Kaufman, Texas

VOTING IDS In more than one state, one can vote without an ID. In European countries everyone is registered in a database in the city in which they reside. Voters must also place a signature next to their name. Voting is a right which should be protected against fraud. Politicians are against the introduction of valid ID requirements. Is the reason so fraud can be committed? (“Voter Fraud Still a Big Threat,” April) sybil barnes Rochester, N.Y.

WRONG CHOICES I was taught the difference between right and wrong, to “always follow your conscience.” Several things in the U.S. today are wrong. As examples, to put party before country, voting along party lines no matter what, and choosing godless socialism. Leaving our borders open to rapists,
