and in curricula, vis-à-vis critical race theory. Congress, please act now: Hold hearings, so we can get America back and send “Amerika” packing. maynard weatherdon Jacksonville, Fla.

UNHAPPY TEENS We have allowed a minority of crackpots to run the country, and they destroyed comedy, wisdom, and logic. We took the common out of common sense. Kids need gravity, as Adam Carolla says. Instead of allowing them interaction with veterans and Holocaust survivors, we invite drag queens to schools. Teens are unhappy because unhappiness is all they learn. (“Teen’s Lawsuit Could End Gender Surgeries on Minors,” January) charles lopresto Phoenix, Ariz.

POOR PARENTING Bill O’Reilly always hits the nail on the head! He states that the problem causing children to compete poorly in school is poor parenting. He is so correct. As a psychiatric nurse of almost 40 years, I worked with children and adolescents during the ADD/ ADHD mania of the 1980s and ’90s and saw the issues fi rsthand. While these conditions are real, and serious, they were overdiagnosed based on

complaints from parents and teachers, not based on the child’s behavior. When I was a child (I’m the same age as Mr. O’Reilly), parents took an interest in our life and our schooling. A swift swat on the bottom was our Ritalin, and it worked wonders.

DISHONEST JOURNALISM I was struck by the dishonesty of today’s reporters (“Journalists Silent on Confl icts of Interest,” February). The fact that so many of them belong to a left-wing union which actively supports progressive politicians and never disclose this when they are covering these politicians or their pet projects is disgusting. How do they expect us to believe anything they write?

cyril moses Canton, Ohio

When a newspaper reports on a business that is owned by the same company — for instance The Washington Post and Amazon, both owned by Jeff Bezos — it usually discloses the link in the story. So why can’t journalists be as upfront and tell us when the union they pay dues to is actively supporting politicians and policies they are writing about? leonard malin Scottsboro, Ariz.
